ABOUT
Background
I aim to make music enjoyable and accessible to everyone.
I love working with learners of all ages and abilities, and have experience working with learners from age 3 to late adulthood, as well as learners with disabilities. I am currently accepting new students of all levels.

I graduated from Southern Utah University in 2017 with a bachelor's degree in French and Music with an emphasis in Piano Performance. I began my studio in 2016.

Curriculum
My typical student curriculum consists of:
-
Opening mindfulness exercise
-
Balanced warm-ups to build finger dexterity and core music theory knowledge
-
Assigned performance piece to build a well-balanced repertoire
-
Fun/Free piece of the student's choosing
-
Rotating challenge assignment to build varied and holistic music knowledge and skills
-
Such as guided improvisation exercises, theory workbook, composition piece, composer/performer bios
-
Though each curriculum will be tailored to the individual student's ability level, capacity for investment in practicing, and desired outcome goals.

Anyone who's learned an instrument always has a "muse" piece- the song that made them want to learn the instrument or gave them motivation to practice. I strive to consistently incorporate that excitement into every week of practicing. Each student will always be working with me on a piece of their choice, regardless of level. Nothing is beyond anyone's ability to play if they are excited and willing to work on it. Through incorporating creative learning techniques such as rote learning, or essentially memorizing through mimicry, any piece is accessible at any time.

Performing
Learning music is only half of the equation-sharing the acquired skills is arguably the most rewarding part. My students will have several performance opportunities of varying degrees. Performance anxiety is something that all performers experience in some way. Through consistent, gentle, varied performance exposure, as well as mindfulness practices students will build the skill set to confidently share their skills and pieces with the world.
